The Cape Times Lourensford Vineyard Run is yet another premier event brought to you by the organisers of the Absa Cape Epic and Cape Odyssey. Making its inaugural appearance on running calendars in the Western Cape, this unique 10 km trail running race will be held on 5 April 2008 and coincides with the last day of the legendary mountain bike stage race that is the Absa Cape Epic.
The finish location at Lourensford Estate hails as the ideal venue to host both runners and adventure enthusiasts from all walks of life. This challenging 10km trail run provides participants with beautiful vistas and numerous climbs through the idyllic and picturesque Lourensford Estate. The route is entirely off-road and offers some testing climbs. The cut-off is generous, allowing the novice runners a chance to test their trail-running skills on this stunning course.
The first edition of the Cape Times Lourensford Vineyard Run sees a shared finish venue with the Absa Cape Epic and the Cape Times Vigne à Vigne. The buzzing atmosphere and hive of activity surrounding these three events promises to leave participants and supporters fully indulged by their day of fun and entertainment at Lourensford. All race routes will remain separate from one another.
