Lourensford Builds New Site For This Year's Flower Show

It's a whole new look for this year's flower show - and that's just the beginning! This year's SAA Cape Town Flower Show will see a major upgrade of the service infrastructure and show area. Lourensford Estate has provided an additional 6 hectares of space to the show - that's more than 60 000 square meters! This will mean parking right alongside the showgrounds with ease of access and a much bigger show area.

Our vision, developed along with Leisureworx, was to find the ideal venue for the show by identifying a space that could serve to accommodate it as it grows, and provide a stunning outdoor experience. The new venue, only a few hundred meters from last year's, is completely surrounded by beautiful oak trees, plum trees and pin oaks, providing a natural setting quite unlike any other.

The level of entertainment for the show has also been ramped up, with another Lourensford partner, the Cape Town Opera, scheduled to enchant show-goers with its melodious sounds. The annual Flower Show Polo is sure to be a wow-factor on the penultimate day of the show.

For Lourensford, the Flower Show provides an ideal opportunity to get people exposed to some of the Western Cape's most beautiful scenery in the form of our estate, the jewel of the Cape winelands. As usual, Lourensford will also provide most of its 27 wine products to taste and purchase, but look at for something different at our Lourensford wine tasting stand this year - a certain much-loved South African icon is back, and all I will say is: think pink!
