Lourensford Appoints Top UK Distributor
Added: 31.03.2006After an extensive search for the right partner, Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West has joined an elite group of wines being represented by Hatch Mansfield. Hatch is recognized as one of the best distributors for premium wine in the on-trade in the U.K. Patrick McGrath MW, managing director of the Ascot-based importer, said he wants Lourenford Estate to be the South African equivalent of Vina Errazuriz in the Chilean sector and Villa Maria in New Zealand.
"Lourensford Estate has the same great potential in terms of terroir and an equally innovative team more than capable of capitalising on their natural assets. In a few years, this will be one of South Africa's leading estates."
Three wine ranges are currently produced for the U.K. market:
Lourenford Eden Crest (from £5.99); Lourensford Five Heirs (£6,99); and Lourensford Estate (£7,99). A flagship wine, Lourensford 1700 (named after the year the estate was founded) is also available at £14,99.
Hatch Mansfield's current portfolio includes Champagne Taittinger, Caliterra, Errazuriz, Grant Burge and Esk Valley.
